Michel Reverdy upholds a multi-generational commitment to Sauvignon Blanc in Verdigny, Sancerre, farming 14 hectares under lutte raisonnée with the aim of articulating the region’s distinct terroir. His holdings span both the dense Kimmeridgian limestone-clay “white soils” and the stony, limestone-rich “pebbly soils,” components he blends with intention to build layered complexity. The 2023 growing season—shaped by a dry late summer, timely September rains, and a final push of heat—proved largely advantageous for the appellation, allowing grapes to reach full physiological ripeness while retaining classical tension.
