Lamy’s wines count among our very favorite Burgundies, as they gracefully balance youthful appeal, old-school structure, and elegant earthy minerality. It’s like the best of both worlds. Both Hubert and his son Olivier’s experiments with high-density plantings are the ultimate ‘old is new’ story, and have forever changed how we think to farm Burgundy’s vineyards. These are foundational examples of St. Aubin. Along with Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, these domaines built up St. Aubin’s reputation to the point it’s at today.
