Insula Vinus Chao de Lava Pahoehoe 10yr - Half Bottle

Paolo Machado is the man behind Insula Vinus (and former head winemaker at Azores Wine Co.) on Pico Island in the Azores. We’ve worked with his still white wines for a few years now and they have quite the following. He only made this take on Madeira once, so if he does this again, we won’t see for another 10 yrs! He looks to harvest riper grapes -closer to 14% abv- so there is less brandy added to get to the ~20% abv.  Has those caramel notes,  but is on drier side with nice zip of acid.
