2021 Jerome Galeyrand, Marsannay, Les Champs Perdrix Blanc

Jérôme Galeyrand is a cult-favorite producer known for his incredibly pure, ethereal, and terroir-driven style. He utilizes meticulous organic viticulture and low-intervention cellar practices to ensure absolute terroir transparency for his Marsannay Champs Perdrix Blanc. Sourced from high-altitude, massale-selection vines rooted in the rigid Dijon-Corton limestone of this steep, easterly-exposed site, the wine is shaped by minimal handling, including crushing via a traditional vertical press and ambient yeast fermentation in barrel with restrained new oak. The 2021 growing season, characterized by its classic cool climate and tension-inducing conditions, has yielded a wine defined by striking structural nerve and bracing acidity. This wine has lovely crushed-stone minerality, and incredible tension.
