Maestro Mezcalero Pedro Vasquez meticulously crafts Nuestra Soledad Joven Mezcal from 100% cultivated Espadín agave in Lachigui, Miahuatlán, Oaxaca. His traditional approach emphasizes sustainable cultivation, roasting agaves in earthen pits, natural open-air fermentation in wooden vats, and double distillation in copper stills. Nestled at over 7,400 feet elevation within Oaxaca's southern Miahuatlán mountains, the Lachigui terroir imparts a distinct mineral presence, shaping the Espadín's expression. This high-altitude microregion yields a mezcal of considerable structural complexity and elegance, exhibiting a rich herbaceous and earthy character. The resulting spirit offers a persistent herbal-floral aromatic presence balanced by a textural astringency on the finish.
