2023 Punta Crena, Vigneto Isasco Rossese, Riviera Ligure di Ponente

Liguria is a rugged, hilly region that sits just along the coast of Northwest Italy, home to the famous Cinque Terre. We’ve been especially enchanted by reds made from the rare and beautiful Rossese di Dolceaqua grape. Rossese can wear many hats, but think of it somewhere on the spectrum between Gamay and the Alpine reds of France and Italy. It has all the bright fruits of Gamay and the appealing herbaceous expression and minerality of great Alpine wines. This a lighter bodied, savory red with nearly invisible tannins is very versatile on the table. A crowd-pleaser, and just great with a slight chill.
