Stephane Regnault, Champagne, Grand Cru, Chromatique (Base 2019) - Magnum

Stéphane Regnault meticulously farms four hectares of Chardonnay in the Grand Cru villages of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger, certified organic since 2020 and incorporating biodynamic preparations to foster vineyard vitality. The Chromatique, a multi-vintage Blanc de Blancs disgorged 01/2021, is a deliberate blend from these holdings, capturing the spectrum of his chalk-rich terroirs, from the lean slopes of Le Mesnil to the richer soils of Oger. Reflecting Regnault’s philosophy of minimal intervention, the wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation and full malolactic conversion, with a portion fermented in used barrels and a significant contribution from a perpetual reserve. This approach builds a structural reality of incisive tension and ample mid-palate presence. The resulting Champagne exhibits a linear yet textured frame, culminating in a mineral-driven finish of sustained length.
