2022 Mitja Sirk, Venezia Giulia IGT Bianco

Mitja Sirk farms in the hills of Collio, right along the Italian–Slovenian border. The vineyards sit on ponca—a crumbly mix of marl and sandstone that breaks apart easily and has shaped the character of wines from this corner of Friuli for centuries.

Sirk works with native fermentations and neutral vessels, keeping the focus on the fruit and the vineyard.

The 2022 bottling is a blend of local white varieties typical of the Collio hills. Citrus, orchard fruit, and a light herbal note with the clean, brisk character often found in wines grown on ponca soils.
