Peat-free (unusual for an Islay malt) this whisky is defined by a tropical-toned floral delicacy and a whiff of coastal salinity. These floral, subtly salty scotches are some of my absolute favorites as they hint at a savory meatiness without fully overwhelming the palate with clods of scorched peat, and have a lovely sense of lift and poise rather than a density of sweet spice.
