Fred Jerbis is the ‘nom d'amaro’ for Frederico Cremasco, a Friulian distiller and forager whose small-batch spirits we recently discovered. This Amaro is made as a single-batch infusion with 16 botanicals, including lime, mulberry, and birch. This is old-school, no added color, low-sugar amaro with a medium bitterness and a refreshing whiff of fresh mountain greenery. At a modest 25% ABV, this is a an easy-sipping drink that plays well both on its own and in all sorts of classic cocktails. Unforgettable stuff with a broad appeal far outside the borders of typical, far more brutally bitter and medicinal amari.
