The 2009 Gevrey Vieilles Vignes bottlings is also exceptional this year, as it offers up a deep and complex nose of red and black cherries, a touch of blood orange, hints of the meatiness to come, lovely soil tones and fine topnote of fresh herbs. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and beautifully sappy at the core, with ripe tannins, fine focus and a nice tanginess on the long and complex finish.
