Domino del Aguila is a top-notch Spanish producer that has been making waves among connoisseurs and critics. We only receive a small allocation of their very top wines. This Reserva is made from vines that were planted before 1930 on predominantly north-facing sites with sandy clay-limestone soils. Winemaker Jorge Monzon co-ferments Tempranillo in concrete tanks with Garnacha and Bobal, with some old vine Albillo added for complexity and aromatic flair. This wine spends 3 years in barrel coming together—and this is evident in the wine’s texture, poise, and complexity. Can drink now with a decant, but this will improve with cellar time.
