The Azores is a Portuguese volcanic archipelago located 100 miles west of the mainland. Here you'll find wines of intense minerality that showcase their oceanic environment. Adega do Vulcão (Winery of the Volcano) focuses on terroir-driven expressions, placing an emphasis on older vines. Ameixambar is sourced from two islands, Faial and Pico, and showcases the unique soils of each. Made almost entirely of Arinto, the wine is fresh and vibrant, and finishes with a lingering salinity. Raw seafood would be a near perfect pairing.
