Luca Currado had made wine for Vietti for many years, and he'd wanted to make a lower ABV wine for some time. He announced his surprise resignation from Vietti late Jan 2023, and soon after he and his wife Elena Penna purchased a forested property near a lake called Cascina Lazzarito – only lake in Piedmont! This coveted Serralunga vineyard site will prove a boon versus drought and global warming in the years to come.
