This is a genetic variant of Chardonnay called Melon à Queue Rouge which grows in the Jura Mountain region of France. Organically and biodynamically farmed, this is one of the finest vintages for this wine in recent memory. The nose is very clean and has an admirable purity and leanness to it, and the palate feels delicate while feeling mineral and rich a tiny bit. This shows the dry and mineral side of Chardonnay and is a staple for many locals and galleries when they entertain.
