There’s been a sea change in public perceptions of Saint-Aubin over the past decade. Saint Aubin was once considered a lesser terroir – merely a curious corner of Burgundy. But nowadays, Saint-Aubin is getting its rightful due thanks to a few key producers who’ve taken the terroirs to new heights (Hubert Lamy perhaps the most famous of them all). Domaine Larue is also one such producer, and their Murgers des Dents de Chien comes from five south-facing parcels at the southern end of Saint-Aubin near the Puligny border, and just above the fabled ‘Le Montrachet’ and Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru vineyards. 'Murgers des Dents de Chien' translates to 'walls of dogs teeth,' referring to the jagged white rocks which form the borders around this vineyard - a unique landmark that sets this special terroir apart. This is serious, powerful wine that really punches above its modest price tag. Think shrimp, lobster, scallops, and any other richer seafood dishes here.
