One of the region’s earliest adopters of biodynamics, Vincent Gaudry's wines are precise and concentrated, and I find some similarities to Claude Riffault (both are based in Sury-en-Vaux). Gaudry has access to some great terroirs, many on Kimmeridgian marl. ‘Melodie’ closely resembles typical Sancerre in style, but a little richer and silkier. It has a little more intensity and refinement, no doubt at least partly due to the age of the vines (50-90 years).
