An exciting new wine from Santorini, hailing from the Louros vineyard made famous by Hatzidakis--as a matter of fact, the Akra Chryssos estate sold fruit from Louros for some time to Hatzidakis for Hatzidakis' bottling. This bottling is pure Assyrtiko, and Spyros Chryssos' family has heirloom vines from Louros at over 200 years of age. An intense wine with aromas of stone and yellow fruit that is ready to accompany a broad set of fish and starch dishes. The warmer 2023 vintage yielded a fuller, riper iteration of this wine; expect salt, peach, and delicate floral notes. Fermented and aged without resort to wood, this wine spends 6 months on its lees to gain breadth and complexity.
