This is an outstanding pale red, and it's getting harder and harder to source. This wine is perfect for fall, but is great chilled in any season. In Abruzzo they make Cerasuolo ('cherry-colored') wine that is like a very deep rosé or a very light red. Christiana Tiberio make an especially good example of Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo that really captures the strong personality of this style of wine. Dry and crisp but with plenty of texture, it is wildly drinkable. Rich cherry fruit and just a touch of tannin make this perfect as a foil for all sorts of food - everything from summer salads to burgers and sausages on the grill.
