Champagne Girard-Bonnet is hands down one of our most exciting recent discoveries, born from a fusion of two family domaines – each farming hallowed ground in the Côte des Blancs. The marriage of Philippe Girard and Dominique Bonnet brought together the Girard family holdings (a co-op grower based in Mesnil-sur-Oger) and the Bonnet family holdings (an independent bottler estate based in Oger). Current young winemaker and rising superstar Paul Girard is the son of Philippe and Dominique. In keeping with the young generation’s desire to always do better, their vineyards are certified organic and biodynamic as of 2023. Paul’s father Philippe Girard already knew enough to phase out pesticides back in 2000, setting the stage for this conversion. This champagne is from their Mesnil sur Oger vineyards, and has left us spellbound.
