Morganti is producing some of the greatest wines of her generation, and her 2023 vintage has arrived. Carrying on her father's work, she champions local varietals, unfettered by DOCG regulations. Whether the vintage is challenging or stellar, her consistency is unmatched. Giovanna produces wines that speak to the vintage without sacrificing quality.

In 2012, Giovanna moved Le Trame to Toscana Rosso to bypass DOCG restrictions. Composed of old-vine Sangiovese co-planted with indigenous varieties and aged in neutral oak, it delivers the pure, punchy minerality and soaring fruit that defined this wine for me years ago.
2023 Podere Le Boncie Chiesamonti Rosso di Toscana 12+ btls @ $95.99
Bottled separately since 2018, Chiesamonti is the fascinating counterpoint to Le Trame. From a stonier parcel, this Sangiovese (with a splash of Canaiolo) spends two years in used oak. It is ethereal and elegant: silky, higher-toned, with a vivid mineral core.
