We Are Flush with Jura! Ganevat, Gahier, Tissot, Labet & MORE!
We are absolutely flush with wines from the Jura right now. These are not merely trendy bottles; they are a window into the region’s complex marl and limestone soils and the diversity of style, which can make buying Jura wine so complicated but such a joy to drink.

The Benchmark Producers:

We are offering rare wines from the retired Jacques Puffeney. Known as the "Pope of Arbois," his Vin Jaunes are legendary for their structural longevity and savory depth. Jean-François Ganevat remains the high-water mark in wine purity and precision. All the wines from Ganevat are from vinatge pre 2021. The Burgundian influenceof Domaine du Pelican (the Arbois project of Volnay’s Marquis d’Angerville) brings a sculpted, aristocratic elegance to Trousseau and Chardonnay. For those seeking even more vibrant, refined, high-energy wines, Bruno Bienaimé—former vineyard manager at the iconic Domaine Leflaive—is producing some of the most meticulous, low-intervention wines in the Cotes du Jura today. Stéphane Tissot’s 2018 Vin Jaune 'Curon' is a powerhouse from a legendary parcel, showing the muscle of a warm vintage. In contrast, François Rousset-Martin specializes in ouillé Savagnin, offering a saline, mineral-drenched profile that will appeal to lovers of Chablis or Dry Riesling. For soulful, spice-driven reds, Michel Gahier (a neighbor and friend of Puffeney) remains the master of Trousseau. Joseph Dorbon continues to uphold the old-school Arbois style, producing honest, long-lived wines from his hillside vineyards in Vadans.

If you are not familiar with the Jura but want to explore, here is where to start...

For the Acid-Seeker (High Tension): Look to GanevatLabet and Rousset-Martin. These wines are defined by electric acidity and intense salinity.

For the Burgundy Collector (Finesse): Domaine du Pelican, Tissot Sursis and Rousset-Martin's 'Le Chaux' offer a familiar sense of poise and clean, focused fruit.

For the Traditional Palate (Oxidative/Nutty): The Puffeney Vin Jaune and Joseph Dorbon Blanc provide that classic Jura "flor" character—walnut, curry spice, and incredible textural breadth.

For the Red Enthusiast (Savory/Earthy): The Trousseaus of Michel Gahier and Lucien Aviet offer a rugged, peppery complexity that is the perfect foil for game or earthy autumnal dishes.
