Lopez is family run bodega in Rioja that has been in operation for over 140 years. Tondonia is their flagship estate owned vineyard, encompassing over 100 hectares on the right bank of the Ebro River in Rioja Alta. The terroir is defined by alluvial clay with limestone. The wine is fermented in old oak vats and aged at least six years in old oak barrels (from their own on-site cooperage). A perfumed, incense laden Tempranillo with earthy spice and soft, supple tannins. Extremely versatile on the dinner table with cheese, charcuterie, game meats, roast chicken & other fowl all marrying nicely.
