These exemplify exactly why we adore top Beaujolais so much in the first place. There is no secret ingredient or ineffable magic formula employed at the estate; rather, Jean has relied on a simple approach for many decades to craft his wines. His holdings have been farmed organically since the 80’s and are largely planted to very old vines, many approaching 100 years of age. As a student of Jules Chauvet, his approach in the winery has always relied on native yeast fermentations and patient élevage in barrel without manipulation. The results always speak for themselves; the wines are compelling and totally unforced in a way that only naturally-produced wine can be.
