Monteraponi is based in Radda-in-Chianti, which contains some of the highest altitude vineyard sites in the area that are enshrouded by forest. Radda is home to some of the finest and most coveted Sangiovese on Earth (read: Montevertine, a much pricier affair). That terroir shows its pedigree in the filigreed, lifted finish of this wine. This is a treat to drink now, but has the structure to improve over 4-5 years. 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino; fermented in cement and aged in botti for 16 months.
