Importer: Axel Prüfer is originally from East Germany, but left to make wine in France and ended up settling in the Languedoc. As an avowed member of the natural wine movement, Axel is committed to making his wines in a stripped back, non-interventionist way and by fastidiously practicing organic viticulture, he's able to harvest pristine fruit that needs no additions on its way into bottle. To say his winery is sparse would be an understatement, but Axel needs little more than a few tanks. This is a carbonic ferment of Cinsault. It tastes like red currant, strawberry, raspberry, and roses. A refreshing 10.8% ABV. The name 'Jalava' in this bottling refers to the name of the train driver that helped Lenin flee Europe and return to Russia by disguising him the train’s coal shoveler.
