This is one of just a handful of biodynamic domains in Sancerre. The vines for 'Renaissance' come from Amigny, just one hill over from Chavignol. The soils are completely different here, though. Instead of the dense Kimmeridgian ‘Terres Blanches’ of Chavignol, here we have ‘Caillottes’ – gravelly limestone pebbles from the Oxfordian era. The resulting wine is light and bright, with notes of lemon, apple, cream and salt. A ‘typical’ style of Sancerre, but one or two notches up in quality.
