Castel Noarna is a picturesque property operated by Marco Zani out of a 10th century castle in the foothills of the Italian Alps. When he took over the estate from his father in 1989, he stopped selling his grapes to the local co-op, intent on making his own wines and proving the potential of land. Mercuria is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that beautifully reflects these mountain vineyards. Earthy with notes of cassis, leather, and alpine herbs this is wonderfully restrained Cabernet driven more by acidity than tannin with only 13% alcohol and no new oak. Old school wine that is a joy to drink with food.
