Barolo & Barbaresco Lovers, Take Note
Two benchmark vintages: 2019 and 2021
With significantly smaller harvests across 2022, 2023, and 2024, securing benchmark Barolo for the cellar has never been more essential. Today, we are highlighting a curated selection from two extraordinary, yet stylistically distinct vintages: 2019 and 2021.
2019: The Classic Long Haul
Built with serious, architectural structure, 2019 is a vintage of patience. Echoing legendary years like 1999 and 2016, these wines have settled into a quiet phase and will reward 10+ years in the cellar.
2021: The Dynamic Benchmark
Layered, vibrant, and expressive, 2021 offers incredible depth with slightly more accessible fruit than 2019. It combines classic cellar longevity with undeniable energy and dynamic charm. It was an equally strong year in Barbaresco, where a warm September with cool nights allowed harvest to extend into October.
Below is everything currently in the shop across both vintages. The quickest way to secure your wines is via the links, but as always, we are available for any questions you may have at shop@mwcwine.com.
